Image Enhancement:
Essential Photoshop for Photographers

Chester County, PA

PhotoshopLogoThis workshop provides students with skills necessary to create master image files, files with all editing layer in tact.  And then to re-purpose those master files for various output media; for example, monitor based display (web sites, e-mail, digital projection) and/or creating prints on their own desk top printer or outsourced to a lab; all in a color managed workflow.

First we'll cover the tools and techniques used for tone (contrast) and color adjustment. Then we'll take a look at ways to restrict those changes to only a portion of the image. After that we will look at applying this knowledge to implement two related but different image enhancement workflows.  One workflow, most appropriate for those shooting jpg files or using older version of Photoshop. The other workflow takes advantage of the new tools and features found in CS4 (or later) to implement a workflow where most global and local changes are done in Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom's Develop Module and this file is then brought into Photoshop as a Smart Object where further adjustments are accomplished.
