Cost: $235/person
Where: Bethany Beach, DE
Max No. of Participants: 12

This is an opportunity to immerse yourself into photography and the making of images with minimal distractions. We will be concentrating on landscape (beachscape) and wildflower photography. We designed this workshop to maximize the time you are out in the field shooting. Hands on, in the field instruction and guidance is a great way to quickly improve upon the images you make. All instruction will be personalized to the needs of each student. We can assist you with composition, technical questions, use of filters, how to get the sharpest image possible, and as well as the range of decisions you need to make to create a photograph that reflects your own artistic vision. Plenty of time during the afternoons will be provided for critique of the images that you make during the weekend. The working schedule for the weekend is:

We do not have a block of rooms set aside anywhere. However, we are still in the "preseason", so availability shouldn't be an issue. There are quite a few hotels/motels in Bethany Beach and I don't think one is any better than another. Here is some information on two in particular.

Bethany Arms (no longer available)

Located on the the boardwalk in Bethany. No ocean view room rates range from $70-$115 depending on size. Ocean view rooms are available for $140-$155.

Holiday Inn Express

Short walk to the beach and our meeting place on the boardwalk. Room rates range $160-$180.

Miscellaneous Stuff

Due to the cool ocean, this time of year the weather in Bethany Beach will generally be a bit cooler than around here. I would expect temperatures in the 40-50s at night and (hopefully) as high as the 70s during the day. So, bring warm clothes (jeans, jacket) for the morning and evenings and shorts/tee-shirt for the days. Also, be prepared for inclement weather. We will try to shoot in whatever weather is presented (within reason). Some of the best shots can be made when it is overcast, misting, or just after the rain. If there is threating weather we will not venture too far from the cars but bring some plastic bags for your gear, just in case.

Please plan to bring the following items:
